The Fall season in Western PA brings out lots of different things. The leaves changing on the trees, pumpkin everything, cable knit sweaters and furry boots with jeans, bonfires and smores and ....FOOTBALL. You can't forget about Football.
If you have ever been to Western PA during Football season, you know how we get around here. We are VERY serious about our football. We even have a television show that follows our local youth teams around during their seasons.
In reality, I think they should have a tv show for the adults that partake in the youth football programs. I mean, I have been saying for years, I am going to have someone document my sessions and just video tape what the parents have to do to make their kids smile.
In the last two years, I have had the honor to be the official photographer for all 3 of our schools youth teams.
I even got to partake in the Steelers outing they had. WOW, that was an EXPERIENCE! I touched James Harrison. .....That is all I have to say. My year is made.
I love watching these kids grow through the season. They come out onto that field for the 1st game of the season, eyes wide open and by the end of the season, they are catching footballs through the air all while looking for me to make sure I am there capturing their touchdowns.
I don't have any boys. I am the mom to two beautiful little girls. I love that these kids know me and look for me. I love that the moms have enclosed me into their "football mom" status. I also love that the dads include me onto the sidelines with them at every game, while I laugh at them yelling out plays called HOTDOG and NUGGET, and make me feel like part of their football family as well.
My community is filled with incredible families and amazing kids and I am so proud to be a part of it.
Will I shoot again next year? I don't know. There are a few people kind of ruining that for everyone else.
BUT, for now, I am going to enjoy each and every second of this season! I am going to stand on the sidelines with those kids, through rain and snow to capture these awesome memories for them.
Because I love them all, like they are my own.
I want them to be proud of their accomplishments, because they should be!
They play with incredible heart every week and that needs to be documented and admired.
So, GO BUCS. GET SOME! I love you guys.
